Wash the bowl and spoons before first use and after every use, with warm water and a soft sponge.

We recommend a fragrance-free dishwashing detergent. This part matters: scented detergents can leave a soap smell in the silicone. Rinse well so the suction base grips properly.

Bowl: dishwasher, microwave, oven and freezer safe, rated -40°C to 230°C.

Spoons: dishwasher safe. Sterilise in boiling water only. Never microwave or use an electric steriliser; the heat damages them.

What age is the silicone suction bowl and spoon set for?
From 6 months when your baby starts solids. That is when the bowl and spoon set does its best work. Babies are motivated to eat but their coordination is still catching up, and having the right tools at that stage makes mealtimes so much easier for everyone. The 400ml bowl is bigger than most baby bowls, so it keeps being useful through toddler years without needing to be replaced.
Why does the baby bowl and spoon set include two spoons?
Because one spoon is never enough. When your baby has one to hold, they stop grabbing yours and that one change makes spoon-feeding so much calmer. It also means self-feeding gets a real chance to develop, because your baby has something to practise with while you feed them. Both spoons are shaped for small hands still figuring out how to grip, with a soft textured handle that is good for oral exploration too.
How do the curved walls help my baby scoop?
Most bowls have straight sides, which means food just slides over the edge when a baby tries to scoop. The Brightberry bowl curves inward, so when your baby pushes the spoon along the side, the food is redirected back onto the spoon rather than onto the tray. More food actually makes it to their mouth, fewer frustrating misses, and a lot more confidence at the table.
How do I get the silicone suction bowl to stick?
Both the bowl base and the surface need to be clean and dry, free from any food leftovers, water, or soap residue. Press firmly in the centre of the bowl to activate the suction. Pressing on the edges is not enough for a strong hold. To release, slide a finger under the edge and lift. The bowl will suction to any smooth glossy surface. If you have a textured high chair tray, we also offer Suction Stickers that create a smooth surface for the bowl to grip onto.
What surfaces does a baby suction bowl work on?
Any smooth, flat, dry surface. The most reliable surfaces are glossy high chair trays, sealed dining tables, and kitchen benchtops. It will not grip on textured or porous surfaces, silicone placemats, or unsealed wood. For the Stokke Tripp Trapp, the tray surface is textured which prevents a strong seal. The Brightberry Suction Sticker is designed specifically for this and gives the bowl a smooth surface to grip onto.
Is the silicone suction bowl and spoon set good for baby-led weaning?
Yes, it suits BLW well. The bowl stays put while your baby reaches in and explores, the wide opening gives small hands plenty of room, and the curved walls mean food ends up on the spoon more often than on the tray. The spoons are long and wide enough for babies to hold and handle comfortably from the very first try.
Is the silicone suction bowl microwave safe?
Yes, the bowl is microwave safe up to 220°C. You can heat food directly in it, which saves transferring from another container. If you have the Brightberry lid, that is microwave safe too, so you can store, heat, and serve in the same bowl. Unlike plastic, silicone does not leach chemicals or microplastics when heated, so it is safe to use every day. Just keep in mind the spoons are not suitable for the microwave or electric steriliser. Sterilise them in boiling water on the stove if needed.
Are silicone baby bowls and spoons dishwasher safe?
Yes, both the bowl and spoons are dishwasher safe. We recommend using a fragrance-free dishwashing detergent to prevent any lingering odours transferring to the bowl or spoons.
Are silicone bowls and spoons safe for babies?
Yes, when they are made from properly certified silicone. Not all silicone is the same. Some cheaper products use fillers that can affect safety and durability. Brightberry uses LFGB Platinum Silicone, which is the highest certification for food-contact materials, stricter than FDA standard. No fillers, no toxins, no microplastics. BPA-free, PVC-free, phthalate-free, and independently tested.
What is LFGB Platinum Silicone?
LFGB is a German food safety standard that is stricter than the FDA certification used in the US. It sets tighter limits on what can migrate from a material into food. Platinum refers to how the silicone is made. Platinum is used as the catalyst in the manufacturing process instead of cheaper alternatives, which results in a purer silicone with no byproducts or fillers. When you see LFGB Platinum on a baby product it means the material has passed the strictest available test for food safety.
How is the bowl and spoon set different from the single silicone suction bowl?
The single bowl is just the bowl with no spoons included. It is a good option if you already have spoons you like or if you are buying a second bowl. The set is the complete package. The same bowl plus two ergonomic spoons that are designed to work with it. If you are just starting solids and want everything in one go, the set makes more sense. If you just need the bowl, the single bowl is available separately.
Can I add a lid to the silicone suction bowl?
Yes. The Brightberry silicone bowl lid fits theOne bowl precisely. Same LFGB Platinum silicone, transparent so you can see what is inside, and safe in the microwave and freezer. It is handy for meal prepping. Portion the food into the bowl, put the lid on, and go straight to feeding without an extra transfer. Available separately in the suction bowls collection.
Are silicone baby bowls better than plastic?
Plastic tableware is widely available, but heating food in a plastic bowl in the microwave is a real concern. Plastic can leach microplastics and harmful chemicals into your child's food, and that risk increases every time it is heated or scratched. Silicone does not. It is also more durable. It does not crack, scratch, or break when dropped, and it does not degrade over time the way plastic does. Softer and quieter at the table too. If you are going to use something every single day for your child's meals, silicone is the safer long-term choice. Just make sure it is LFGB Platinum certified because not all silicone is equal.
Are silicone baby bowls better than stainless steel?
Both are safe and long lasting, but they feel very different to use. The biggest practical difference is noise. A metal spoon scraping or banging on a stainless steel bowl is loud, and that sound gets amplified at every meal. Silicone is naturally soft and quiet, which makes a real difference when you are doing multiple meals a day. Silicone also has the curved wall design that helps with scooping, which a straight-sided steel bowl cannot replicate. Building my collection!
This is the second set I have purchased for my daughter, she loves using them so much and I especially love the suction and how easy they are to clean. I love that they don't stain which means you can put whatever you want in them without the risk of discolouring them __
The teething bits on the end of the spoons are just a plus and I even will put them in the fridge sometimes before I feed my daughter because she loves to chew on them while she's eating and it soothes her sore gums while she's teething.
These are just the best, and if you don't have them you're missing out!! ____

Suction Bowls - Stays Put, Less Mess!

I’m in awe of these bowls! The Brightberry suction bowls have transformed our meal times. The suction is incredibly strong on smooth surfaces, meaning no more flung bowls or food catastrophes! This feature alone has reduced my mealtime stress significantly. Beyond the amazing suction, the bowls themselves are thoughtfully designed. Amazing design

Love the design so much but 2 stars because I had to give it all away. The dishwasher tablets I use make the food taste like soap in the silicone bowl. It’s disgusting. I wish all these same designs came in a bamboo or malemine material option. I know I could probably find a dishwasher tablet that is fragrance free but seems hard to find. So I just gave everything I bought away. Can’t fault anything else! They’re amazing otherwise. Such a bummer.

What you’ve described is, unfortunately, a known issue with heavily fragranced dishwasher tablets. While silicone can absorb strong scents, those same tablets also leave a film or lingering fragrance on bamboo, wood, and even standard dishware too. So the problem is more about the detergent than the material itself.

The good news is there are some great fragrance-free or low-fragrance options available (even in supermarkets) that work really well without the soapy aftertaste. Ecostore Fragrance Free or Undo This Mess are just some trusted brands that are gentle, affordable, and safe for all materials.

I’ve a Stokke highchair and a tray. The suction base doesn’t stay put on the tray no matter what I did. The bowl keeps coming off every 2 seconds. I’m so disappointed because this is not what the advertisement tells me.

We appreciate you taking the time to write this review, and we are sorry for the problems you are experiencing. Unfortunately, no suction works on the Stokke tray because it has a textured surface. The suction works if the air can't get under the suction base, which is impossible on a textured surface like the Stokke tray. We do not advertise the suction works on the Stokke tray; we have written on our website on several pages that the surface must be smooth for the suction to work as intended.
However, in saying all the above, we have found a solution for textured surfaces such as the Stokke tray. We have created a special sticker you apply on the tray, and then the suction works perfectly.
