The Silicone Kids Smoothie Cup for Toddlers from 6 Months

Most kids' smoothie cups use valves that make sipping hard work. The Brightberry smoothie cup uses a free-flow straw with no valve, so thick smoothies, milkshakes and yoghurt drinks flow easily. The secure lid stays on if knocked over. The stopper keeps the straw in place.

Recommended by speech pathologists for the transition from bottles to cups when transitioning from bottles to cups, because free-flowing straws support healthy lip and tongue positioning.

♥︎ Free-flow straw: easy to sip, no valve, no hard work

Easy to Hold

Silicone Smoothie Cups for Kids

Small hands, big thirsts. At 240ml it's just the right size: not too heavy when full, easy to hold from the very first sip.

The non-slip matte finish means it actually stays in their grip, not on your floor.

Spill Resistant

Secure Lid. Stopper Straw.

The silicone lid stays put if the cup is knocked over or dropped.

The stopper means the straw stays exactly where it should: no pulling out, no pushing in, even by the cheekiest little hands.

A cheerful young child with a bright smile is holding a light blue Brightberry smoothie cup. The cup is featured with a 'Secure Lid' and a 'Stopper Straw' as labeled in the image, emphasizing its child-friendly and mess-preventing design. The child's gray T-shirt features a graphic of a Disney's Elsa, adding a playful touch to the photo.
Straw Design

Free-Flowing Silicone Straw — No Valve, No Struggle

The wavy tip on the straw prevents it from sealing against the bottom of the cup, so every last drop flows freely without the straw getting stuck.

And because there's no valve, thick smoothies and milkshakes pass easily with no resistance. Speech pathologists recommend free-flowing straws for toddlers transitioning from bottles to cups, because they support healthy lip and tongue development.

no major spills

Lid That Won’t Pop Off

The lid locks on firmly and stays sealed if the cup tips over.
Designed to minimise mess during real toddler life, not just in a demo.

What Parents are Saying

★★★★★

Brightberry, you have saved me from Mum Rage. My boy loves smoothies; drinking them, throwing them, flicking his straw to create masterpieces on the walls. And as I don’t love constant cleaning, this was money very well spent!! Sanity saved and smoothie actually gets drunk. Thanks for your thoughtful toddler proof designs!

They have tackled every issue with kids straw cups. The lid is tight and won’t come off easily. The straw is a piece of engineering perfection for a curious toddler to avoid spills. Best cup for a toddler I’ve found.

This smoothie cup has been a lifesaver! My son throws everything from his highchair and so far this cup has proved itself. The lid stays on so securely and he can’t pull the straw out which is amazing. The cup also has a nice weight to it which helps it stay upright. Will definitely be purchasing more!

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about the Brightberry Kids Smoothie Cup.

Is the Brightberry kids silicone smoothie cup spill-proof?
The lid stays sealed if the cup is knocked over or dropped. It is not fully spill-proof with thin liquids if turned completely upside down, and that is an intentional design choice. The free-flowing straw supports healthy oral development and allows thicker smoothies to pass easily. It is ideal for smoothies, milkshakes, milk, and oat milk.
Why does the Brightberry smoothie cup use a free-flowing straw instead of a valve?
Valves require suction effort that can frustrate young children and slow the transition from bottle to cup. A free-flowing straw supports natural drinking habits and is recommended by speech pathologists for toddlers transitioning to cups, as it promotes healthy lip, tongue, and cheek muscle development.
Does the straw stay in place on the Brightberry silicone straw cup?
Yes. The Fin™ stopper is a two-way design, preventing the straw from being pulled out through the top and pushed down into the cup. Both are among the most common frustrations with kids' straw cups, and this was a specifically designed fix for both. It is one of the most mentioned features in our reviews.
If I squeeze the cup to teach my child to drink through the straw, will liquid come up?
Yes, squeezing the cup is a great way to introduce straw drinking to little ones. Give it a gentle squeeze to push liquid up the straw and help them get the idea. The cup is wide enough that small children cannot squeeze it themselves, so once they have learned the technique it will not be an issue during everyday use.
What age is the Brightberry silicone smoothie cup suitable for?
From around 6 months when introducing cup drinking, with most babies drinking independently from a straw between 9 and 12 months. The non-slip matte finish and lightweight design make it easy for little hands at any stage, and the 240ml capacity means it grows with them well into toddler years.
Can toddlers drink milk or water from a silicone smoothie cup?
Yes. The Brightberry silicone smoothie cup works well for smoothies, milkshakes, milk, juices, and water. For thin liquids like water, avoid fully tipping the cup upside down, as the free-flowing straw design means some liquid can escape. It won't spill with thicker drinks.
Is the Brightberry kids smoothie cup dishwasher safe?
Yes. The cup, lid, and straw are all fully dishwasher safe with no colour loss or degradation. Use the included straw brush for a thorough clean if washing by hand. Store with the lid off to allow airflow between uses.
Is the Brightberry silicone smoothie cup microwave safe?
Yes. Unlike stainless steel cups, the Brightberry silicone smoothie cup is fully microwave safe. You can warm milk or oat milk directly in the cup without transferring to another container first. Always test the temperature of the drink before giving it to your child, as silicone retains heat and the liquid may be warmer than it appears.
How do I clean the silicone straw?
Use the included straw brush with warm soapy water after each use to prevent smoothie residue building up inside the straw. All parts are also dishwasher safe for easy everyday cleaning.
Does this cup fit the Brightberry Divided Plate?
Yes. The smoothie cup is designed to sit perfectly in the small round section of the Brightberry Divided Plate for a complete mealtime setup.
Is silicone safe for toddlers?
Yes. The Brightberry smoothie cup is made from LFGB Platinum Silicone, the highest international food safety standard, stricter than FDA. It is free from BPA, PVC, phthalates, and microplastics, and safe for both hot and cold drinks.
Silicone or stainless steel toddler cup — which is better?
Both are safe materials. The practical differences come down to everyday use. Stainless steel cups cannot go in the microwave, and the powder coating can fade in the dishwasher, meaning hand-wash only. Uninsulated stainless steel transfers temperature directly to little hands, becoming uncomfortably hot or cold with the drink inside, and some children dislike the metallic taste it can impart. They are also noticeably louder when dropped or knocked on a table. Silicone is fully dishwasher and microwave safe, neutral in taste, softer against teeth and gums, lighter, quieter, and stays comfortable to hold regardless of what is inside.
How do I teach my baby to drink from a straw?
Gently squeeze the cup while holding the straw at your baby's lips. This pushes a small amount of liquid up the straw, and babies around 6 months will often begin sucking immediately as their sucking reflex is still strong at this age. For older babies, feeling liquid on their lips is usually enough to get them started. After a few sessions with the squeeze assist, offer the cup without squeezing and let them try on their own. Most babies reach independent straw drinking and holding a cup between 9 and 12 months. The Brightberry smoothie cup is wide enough that little ones cannot squeeze it themselves, so the squeeze method stays a parent-controlled learning tool throughout.

The Brightberry Difference

Hide the Greens. They'll Ask for More.

Blend the good stuff in and watch it disappear. Smoothies are one of the easiest ways to get fruit and veg into little ones, and the free-flowing straw makes sure even the thickest blends go down easily. Perfect for babies and toddlers from 6 months.

LFGB Platinum Silicone — The Safest Available

LFGB platinum silicone is stricter than the FDA. No BPA, no PVC, no phthalates, no microplastics. No plastic parts anywhere on the cup. Microwave, dishwasher and freezer safe. Because what touches their food matters.
