Why Suction Sticker Quality Matters: A Brightberry Comparison

Two suction stickers can look similar in a product photo. What you want to know is how they behave on your high chair tray, including when it’s time to lift the bowl and clear away breakfast.

We developed the Brightberry Suction Sticker to give suction tableware a smooth surface to grip on textured trays. We also bought an alternative sticker to try for ourselves. In our use, that sticker bubbled and lifted when we removed the suction bowl.

That difference is worth showing. Here’s what we observed, why it matters for everyday use, and how our sticker works with the rest of your feeding setup.

Our comparison: what happened when the bowl was removed

In the comparison pictured below, the Brightberry sticker remains flat against the tray as the bowl is removed. The alternative sticker shows visible bubbling and lifting in the area beneath the bowl.

The distinction is between the bowl gripping the sticker and the sticker staying attached to the tray. You need both parts to work together. A bowl can grip a sticker, but if the sticker lifts with it, the surface underneath is no longer sitting flat.

This is our own comparison of the alternative sticker we purchased. The photographs show the difference we observed with that product, rather than a result for every suction sticker on the market.

Why the sticker material matters

A high chair suction sticker has a particular job: it needs to adhere to a suitable tray and provide a smooth upper surface for compatible suction tableware. Its appearance alone won’t tell you how it will behave when a bowl is attached and removed.

Application and care still count

For the sticker to bond well, the tray needs to be properly prepared. Follow our suction sticker application guide, including cleaning away food, oil and detergent residue before applying it.

Once fitted, leave the sticker in place between meals. Clean it with a soft sponge, mild detergent and water, then rinse thoroughly. Hand-wash the tray with the sticker attached; keep it out of the dishwasher and avoid abrasive scrubbers.

The sticker is a one-time application. You can use it repeatedly while it stays attached, but it isn’t designed to be peeled off and reapplied. How long it lasts depends on application, use and cleaning.

Choose the right setup for your meals

If you need a sticker for another high chair, browse our suction sticker range and check the model and measurements. We don’t recommend our stickers for the heavily textured Stokke Steps tray.

For food served directly on a Tripp Trapp tray, use the Brightberry Silicone Placemat over the sticker. The placemat is intended for direct food serving; the suction sticker itself is not.

If you’re building your setup from the beginning, the Stokke Tripp Trapp Baby Bundle includes the bowl with two spoons, placemat, suction sticker and applicator tool. It’s a useful option when you need all those pieces. The high chair and tray are not included.

What is the difference between a suction sticker and a suction solver?

These names are used for products intended to help suction tableware grip a tray. The name alone doesn’t tell you how a product performs. In our comparison, the alternative sticker bubbled during bowl removal while the Brightberry sticker stayed flat. Look at the demonstrated result, tray compatibility and care instructions when comparing options.

Why did the alternative sticker bubble?

In our use, it lifted away from the tray as the suction bowl was removed. That lifting is visible in the comparison photograph. The photograph shows what happened; it does not identify the exact material or adhesive formulation.

Will Brightberry Suction Stickers work with other brands of bowls?

They may. The bowl needs a suitable suction base, and its design and condition affect the result. We recommend Brightberry suction bowls and plates because we designed them to work with our stickers. Check physical tray fit too: theOne bowl and theBase plate fit the Tripp Trapp tray; theValle divided plate does not.

Can I reuse the sticker or put it in the dishwasher?

Leave the sticker attached for everyday use and hand-wash the tray. It is not designed to be peeled off and reapplied, and the tray with its sticker attached should not go in the dishwasher.

Can I serve food directly on the sticker?

Use a bowl, plate or the Brightberry Silicone Placemat for food. The sticker is designed to improve suction and is not intended for direct food serving.
